Provide professional consultancy service on any size Cement industry total feasibility study, like marketing study, Raw materials, Technology and Engineering and financial analysis. Also provide specific study on organizational structure and salary scale.
Cement plant Operation and Maintenance (O&M)
Provide operation and maintenance management services (O&M) for existing factories under operation (under O&M contract), full plant or partial of it. We have local and foreign well experienced experts which can be pulled in to given service Mechanical, E&I and process. The service covers from Mines to Raw mill, Kiln and cooler, cement mill and packing.
Asset Valuation
Provide asset valuation services for cement factories in particular and for any machinery valuation in general. BYH uses experienced experts in the field of asset valuation on Civil, mechanical, Electrical and process activities of any industry. We do valuation works on buildings too for the purpose of legal case, IFRS, company mergers.
Training
Human Resource Training and development for cement operation and Maintenance. Professionals in the field of Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, process, mines, and Quality control are trained to the level of full skill by BYH experts. Short term training on available new technologies shall be delivered in cooperation with GVS experts and machinery suppliers too.
Energy optimization and Alternative Energy use
a) Provide consultancy service on Alternative energy supply and use in Cement factories like biomass, coffee husk, RDF, etc. We also advice on the proper technology selection of the alternative fuel storing, shredding, conveying and feeding mechanisms from the best technology suppliers.
b) Full-fledged feasibility study for local coal washing plant in Ethiopia. Connecting to coal washing plant suppliers in Turkey and China, proper technology selection, installation and plant operation support on O&M bases.
Existing plant optimization, relocation and capacity enhancement
With the use of experienced technical team in the cement field, BYH can remove, relocate and reinstall factory plant as per the need of the client. BYH will prepare full relocation plan from dismantling, transporting, installation and testing at designed place. Also, study shall be made how to optimize the existing plant with minimum resource for better performance.

- Full Technical study for the ropeway project from Hawassa lake to Tabor mountain
- Full technical basement on all ten Ethiopian cement factories has been done by BYH senior cement energy experts by the requires of Ministry of Industry and the report was submitted too.
- BYH senior Cement and energy expert has done Technical advisory works to 5000tpd green field cement project of Abay Industrial Development Share Company at Dejen, Amhara regional state.
Cement plant Operation and Maintenance (O&M)

- The technical team from BYH has assessed the technical operational problem of Mugher cement factory line 1 and line 3 for one month and come up with full operational solutions by training on Job training the operators and optimized the kiln operation brought it to its sustainable operation.
- BYH is signed three years advisory contract with Habesha cement Share Company for the overall control and advise of plant technical operation, maintenance.
Existing plant optimization, relocation and capacity enhancement

- Full study and engineering was done by BYH experts (including civil design, mechanical, electrical, control and process) for the dismantling and reinstallation of 20tph cement grinding unit at Addis Ababa cement factory, part of Mugher cement factory, to Caustic soda plant at Zeway city. BYH Experts with Migher maintenance and operation team were successfully completed the project and the plant was tested and now under production phase.
Training

- BYH conducted a training program for Mugher cement factory technical team by the tittles Pyo-Processing kiln operation technology for operation team and Preventive maintenance training for maintenance team. The training by BYH experts from process and maintenance take 21 days and 14 days respectively. The number of trainees was 120 for operation and 20 for maintenance. Training certificate was give after the end of the program.
Asset Valuation
- Complete 3000tpd clinker production cement factory Asset valuation owned by Habesha Cement Share Company /by request of TDB bank form Keneya- African Trade & Development bank. BYH is one of a short listed valuator for their business.
- Asset Valuation of complete Concrete pole Manufacturing factory owned by Semic Engineering Plc and located at Modjo
- Asset Valuation of complete Concrete pole Manufacturing factory owned by Semic Engineering Plc and located at Kombolcha
- Different Machines, Like Induction furnace, Transformer, Capacitor, Compressor, Electrical motor, Single girder crane, etc. valuation for National cement factory for court purpose.
Energy optimization and Alternative Energy use
- BYH Senior cement and Energy expert were assigned to work with EU Experts EU-funded Capacity Building on Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of GHG Emissions and Actions in Developing Countries, Environment Management and MRV non-key Expert for cement sub-sector: The objective is improve the ability of the MEFCC and other national institutions to develop the framework and protocols for obtaining the necessary data and information to successfully implement sub-sector MRV, using the cement sub-sector as the focus for a national practical exercise. Assisted the Counterpart Agency and the EU MRV Team. Key responsibilities included: Arranged and attended important meetings with key players in the cement sub-sector; Provided a clear picture of the current situation in Ethiopia’s cement sector, particularly relating to IPCC inventory activity data (type of cement, type and quantities of raw materials used, clinker production by type of cement, fuel type and consumption, etc.); Assisted the Key Experts and counterpart team in designing, reviewing and testing the data collection templates and protocols. Advised the team on the optimal institutional setup of the sub-sector to be able to efficiently collect the needed data for MRV. Provided on-the job support and advised the counterpart team and Key Experts on how to develop a framework to optimally obtain the necessary data and information. Provided support to technical experts, cement factory managers and Ministry of Industry/CCIIDI, Ministry of Environment and Forestry on energy efficiency and use of different alternative energy sources to reduce pollution from cement production.
- LC3 (Limestone Calcined Clay Cement) Project: BYH senior experts Worked as Senior Cement Expert with Cementis expert from Switzerland who brought LC3 research team from Switzerland to implement the project in Ethiopia and create awareness in the local cement industry. It is ternary cement that can achieve strengths similar to OPC even at clinker factors as low as 40% to 50%. LC3 promises to support a sustainable growth by reducing CO2 emissions, energy consumption, capital and production costs, and wastage of raw materials. LC3 has been developed in an international collaboration between the University of Las Villas, Cuba and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, which was funded by the Swiss government. Significant progress has been made over the first three years of the project including extensive research, laboratory trials and first industrial productions
- BYH Senior Cement and Energy expert is consulting implementation of alternative energy use pilot project in cement plants a pilot project at National Cement factory all packages including harvesting and transport of biomass energy plant, prosopis juliflora, storing, and Shredding, and feeding machinery, selection and testing. The project is owned by Ministry Industry of Ethiopian Government and financed by EU.
- BYH Senior cement and Energy expert together with senior geologists, has done a total assessment study on the local coal use in the cement industry, availability of local coal, coal washing system and gave guidance to ministry of mines.
